Ranked for tattoo studios

Best social media tools for tattoo studios in 2026

Seven tools ranked by how much of a studio's real work each one turns into a public feed and a booked chair, because the work is the ad: every price read from the vendor's own page on one named date, with the winner named before the ranking, by a company that sells one of the seven.

Ours is entry two, not entry one. It starts free every week: 3 posts, 1 video, 1 cross-post, plus 300 credits a month refilled forever. No card asked for, and free-plan media carries a small watermark.

The best ad a tattoo studio owns is already healed: it sits on someone's arm, and the feed lives in the camera roll. The gap between that roll and a published post is what these seven rank on. Later leads: Instagram-first scheduling from $18.75 a month billed yearly, its monthly-selected figure could not be confirmed (later.com/pricing, read 17 September 2026).

Second place is ours. SpeedRun Social writes in the shop's register, works from the fresh and healed shots you upload, and holds every draft in an approval queue until you release it, and it posts to Google Business Profile where a walk-in searches for a tattoo shop nearby. Every figure below was read off the vendor's own page on 17 September 2026.

These seven are not one kind of software. Three schedule, two generate the words and the image, and two are booking platforms that take the deposit but publish nothing to a feed. Each entry names its kind above its price, so you can skip the rows that answer a different question than the one you asked, and the order below ranks them by how much of a studio's real work each turns into a public feed and a booked chair, because the work is the ad.

The seven tools, ranked

Every priced claim below links to the vendor page it was read from and the date it was read. Where a vendor publishes a monthly price and an annual one, both are quoted.

  1. Later

    Instagram-first scheduler

The queue for a portfolio that lives on Instagram

A tattoo studio's portfolio is Instagram: the healed sleeve, the fresh piece under the ring light, the flash sheet for a walk-in day. Later is built for exactly that feed, with Best Time to Post, a Link in Bio, and a queue that keeps the studio posting on the days nobody has an hour for captions. What it does not do is write like the shop, post to the Google listing a walk-in searches, or book the chair, so the words still come from a person and the appointment still happens over text.

What it costs at one location
Its pricing page opened on the yearly toggle and printed Starter at $18.75 a month billed yearly, Growth at $37.50 and Scale at $82.50, each marked billed yearly with a 25% off and 3 months free label. The page names monthly and yearly billing side by side but would not show its monthly figures to this read, so the monthly-selected figure could not be confirmed. Starter carries 1 social set of 8 profiles, 1 user, up to 30 scheduled posts per profile and 5 AI credits a month. The page offers a 14-day free trial. later.com/pricing, checked 17 September 2026
    Best for
A tattoo studio whose artists already photograph the work and which only needs the Instagram queue handled without learning a second tool, and which is fine writing the two sentences itself.

    Honest limitation

It schedules but does not write for you beyond a small AI credit allowance, and nothing on its pricing page names Google Business Profile, so the map search for a tattoo shop nearby stays with whoever runs that listing by hand. A Social Set bundles eight profiles when a single studio usually runs one Instagram and maybe a Facebook page, and because this read could not confirm the monthly figure, a studio paying month to month should open later.com/pricing itself before assuming the yearly number applies. later.com/pricing, checked 17 September 2026

  2. SpeedRun Social

    our product

    AI content generator

Writes like the shop, posts, and waits for your yes

It reads your website into a brand kit, then writes the caption in the shop's register, works from the fresh and healed shots you upload, and holds every draft in an approval queue until you release it, so a wrong artist credit or a piece a client asked to keep private never ships. It posts to Google Business Profile too, where a walk-in searching "tattoo shop near me" looks. Disclosure: this is our product and this is our list, and Later sits above it because a studio whose portfolio is already on Instagram may only need the queue, and Later charges less for that.

What it costs at one location
Free plan: 300 credits a month refilled forever, one free campaign a week (3 posts, 1 video, 1 cross-post), no card, watermarked media on free. Paid plans are $49.99, $99.99 and $199.99 a month billed monthly, or $39.99, $79.99 and $159.99 a month billed annually. speedrunsocial.com/pricing, checked 17 September 2026
    Best for
A tattoo studio that wants the fresh and healed work turned into captions, images and a short video with the shop's register already in them, and which wants to watch a real week of its own posts appear before paying anything.

    Honest limitation

It does not book the chair or take a deposit: it publishes, and the booking link on your profile still points at whatever you use today, so a studio whose real problem is a text-message booking queue should look at GlossGenius or Square Appointments first. It costs more than Publer or Metricool for a queue-only studio, free-plan media carries a watermark, and we are the youngest company on this page. speedrunsocial.com/pricing, checked 17 September 2026

  3. Publer

    Scheduler

The cheapest queue, and it posts to Google

A scheduler priced per social account rather than per seat, which suits a tattoo studio running one Instagram and a Google listing. Its plans page names Google Business Profiles among the things it publishes, so the healed shot can go to the profile a walk-in reaches through a search rather than only to a feed.

What it costs at one location
Its plans page prints both billing modes inside the same card. Professional read $5.00 a month billed monthly or $4.00 a month billed yearly, and Business read $10.00 a month or $8.00, with a 7-day and a 14-day trial respectively. A free forever tier is listed at $0.00 with 1 user, 3 social accounts excluding X, 10 scheduled posts per account and 24-hour post history. Enterprise is billed yearly and quoted on request. publer.com/plans, checked 17 September 2026
    Best for
A tattoo studio whose artists photograph the work and which wants the queue handled for a few dollars a month instead of posted at midnight between clients.

    Honest limitation

It generates no images or video and writes no caption, so the healed shot still has to come from the artist's phone and the two sentences from a person. The queue is all it does: nothing asks a client for a healed photo or a review, and nothing books the chair, so the appointment and the deposit still happen somewhere else. publer.com/plans, checked 17 September 2026

  4. Metricool

    Scheduler and analytics

Scheduling plus the numbers, and Google in the list

A scheduler with analytics and competitor tracking attached, and Google Business Profile named on the pricing page itself. A tattoo studio that wants to know whether a month of posting moves anything, rather than only that it happened, is paying for the reporting half as much as the publishing half.

What it costs at one location
Its plans page prints both billing ladders and carries a save up to 24% annual label. The dearer ladder, billed monthly, listed Starter from $25 a month for 5 brands, and Advanced from $67 a month for 15 brands up to $210 for 50. The cheaper ladder, billed annually, listed the same tiers at $20 and then $53 up to $159. A free tier is listed at $0 covering 1 brand, every network except LinkedIn and X, up to 20 scheduled posts a month and 30 days of analytics. metricool.com/pricing, checked 17 September 2026
    Best for
A tattoo studio large enough to care whether the posts move anything, with somebody willing to read a monthly report.

    Honest limitation

It makes no images or video and writes no caption either, and its entry ladder starts at five brands, which is four more than a single tattoo studio runs, so the cheapest paid tier is priced for an agency and sold to one location at the same number. The free tier caps scheduling at 20 posts a month and leaves out LinkedIn and X. metricool.com/pricing, checked 17 September 2026

  5. Ocoya

    AI content generator

Caption and image together, on the cheap

It makes the caption and the image together and schedules them on its cheapest tier, and at $29 a month billed monthly that is a small number for a tool that does both. The catch for a tattoo studio is in what it makes: a generated image of a tattoo that does not exist cannot stand in for the healed photo a client is actually buying, so it earns its place as a flash-sheet and announcement generator, not a portfolio.

What it costs at one location
Its plan cards listed Starter at $29 a month billed monthly for 1 user, 5 social profiles and 300 credits, Team at $79 a month billed monthly for 5 users and 20 profiles, and Agency at $199 a month billed monthly for 20 users and 100 profiles. The page offered a yearly toggle marked 2 months free, but the discounted yearly figure was not shown on the view this read captured, so only the monthly figures are quoted here. Every tier's call to action is a 7-day free trial. ocoya.com/pricing, checked 17 September 2026
    Best for
A tattoo studio that wants flash-day graphics, books-open announcements and captions produced for the lowest monthly number, and which already posts the real work from the artist's phone.

    Honest limitation

There is no free plan, only a 7-day trial, and its pricing page never mentions Google Business Profile, so the posting it automates lands on the feeds a studio is found on second rather than the map search that finds it first. Its captions are not grounded in your shop, so the style names and artist credits read generic until you rewrite them, and a generated image is no substitute for a healed piece. ocoya.com/pricing, checked 17 September 2026

  6. GlossGenius

    Booking and payments software

Books the chair and takes the deposit

Not a social media tool, and it is ranked here because a tattoo studio's feed all points at one thing: a booked chair. It takes the appointment, the deposit and the card, and it manages reviews and sends email and text marketing, with social media templates to download. What it does not do is publish anything to Instagram or TikTok, so the feed still has to be built in another tool.

What it costs at one location
Its pricing page printed Standard at $28 a month billed monthly or $24 a month billed annually, Gold at $56 a month billed monthly or $48 billed annually, and Platinum at $168 a month billed monthly or $148 billed annually. Every plan adds a flat 2.6% payment processing rate, and the page's call to action is a free trial with no credit card required rather than a free plan. Payroll is a separate $40 a month plus $6 a seat. glossgenius.com/pricing, checked 17 September 2026
    Best for
A tattoo studio whose real bottleneck is a booking queue that runs over text and a deposit over a payment app, and which already posts its own work somewhere else.

    Honest limitation

It is booking and payments software first, not a social media tool: the pricing page covers scheduling, checkout, email and text marketing and social media templates, but names no Instagram or TikTok posting, so a caption still has to be written and posted elsewhere. At $28 a month billed monthly plus a 2.6% processing cut it is also a pricier way to get the queue handled when a studio already has a booking tool. glossgenius.com/pricing, checked 17 September 2026

  7. Square Appointments

    Booking and payments software

The free booking front desk for a walk-in

Also not a social media tool: it is the booking and payments front desk a walk-in meets, and its pricing page names Tattoo & Piercing as a business type it serves. The free plan is a real free plan rather than a countdown, so a new studio can run its calendar on it from day one, and the feed still has to be built in a scheduler or a generator.

What it costs at one location
Its pricing page listed Square Free at $0 a month per location, Square Plus at $49 a month per location with a 30-day free trial, and Square Premium at $149 a month per location with a 30-day free trial, all billed monthly, with Square Pro priced on request. The page names Tattoo & Piercing as a business type it serves, with no annual rate printed anywhere on the page. squareup.com/appointments/pricing, checked 17 September 2026
    Best for
A tattoo studio that needs a free calendar, card payments and client records before it spends anything on marketing, and which is fine posting the work itself meanwhile.

    Honest limitation

It is a booking and payments system, not a social media tool: the pricing page covers scheduling, client communication, checkout and marketing, but names no Instagram, TikTok or Facebook posting, so the feed still has to be built in another tool. Square Free is free but Square still takes a payment processing fee on every card transaction, and the appointments page does not spell out review requests on the pricing page itself. squareup.com/appointments/pricing, checked 17 September 2026

How this list was ranked

The stake first: we build SpeedRun Social, it is entry two of seven, and Later, a scheduler we do not own, sits above it. A vendor's roundup earns a tattoo studio owner's time only when the stake is stated before the ranking rather than under it, so it is said here.

Every figure on this page was read off the vendor's own pricing page on 17 September 2026 in a real browser, and the address bar was checked against the address requested before a single number was written down. Nothing was restated from a review site, another roundup or an assistant's answer. No stars, no scores, no customer counts, ours least of all. Every claim links to the page it came from with the date it was read.

Billing modes are named wherever a price appears. Later's page opened on its yearly toggle and would not show its monthly figures to this read, so its entry quotes the yearly numbers and says the monthly ones could not be confirmed. Ocoya prints a monthly figure and a yearly toggle, but the yearly number was not shown on the view this read captured, so only the monthly figure is quoted. GlossGenius prints both modes, and both are quoted. Our own ladder is quoted in both modes for the same reason.

The ranking rule is tattoo specific. The work is the ad: a sleeve at six weeks, a fresh piece under the ring light, a flash sheet for a walk-in day, a clip of the stencil going on. A generated image of a tattoo that does not exist is worse than the healed photo, so this list ranks tools on how much of a studio's real work each turns into a public feed and a booked chair, whether it writes like the trade and posts for you, and then what the cheapest plan that does it costs at one location. That is why an Instagram-first scheduler leads, why our own sits second, and why the two booking platforms sit at the bottom, labeled for what they are.

Three jobs divide the list. Scheduling separates the three schedulers from the two generators and the two booking platforms. Writing separates ours and Ocoya from the schedulers, which queue whatever the artist photographed but write nothing. Booking separates GlossGenius and Square, which take the appointment and the deposit, from everything above them, which link out to whatever booking tool sits on the profile.

The query's own results mislead. TattooPro is a parked domain, InkDesk is a sponsored-content marketplace, and Breezit redirects to a wedding and events marketplace, so none of the three is a tattoo tool and none is ranked here. Prices move, so open the links before any of this decides a purchase.

The honest part

Later is the better choice if Instagram is your whole storefront and the only missing piece is the queue. It schedules the portfolio for less than our cheapest paid plan, and a studio that already writes its own captions does not need our brand kit to post a healed sleeve. We rank it first for exactly that reason, and we are not the cheapest way to a tattoo studio's feed.

GlossGenius or Square Appointments is the better choice if your real problem is that a booking still happens over text and a deposit over a payment app. They take the appointment and the money, and we do neither: we post, and the booking link on your profile still points at whatever you use today. And if you already write your own captions, Publer or Metricool queues your phone photos for a few dollars a month.

What we will not claim: no ratings, no customer counts, no trusted-by list, no guarantee that any of this fills a chair. We are the youngest company on this page. The one thing we can say plainly is that this list hands the top slot to a rival and tells you which rivals beat us on price, because a list that did neither would be the kind of marketing a tattoo studio owner should skip.

Questions tattoo studios ask about this list

  • What is the best social media tool for a tattoo studio?

Later, for a studio whose portfolio lives on Instagram: it queues the healed and fresh shots, and its entry tier was $18.75 a month billed yearly on 17 September 2026, and its monthly-selected figure could not be confirmed. If you want the caption written in the shop's register and held for approval before it ships, SpeedRun Social, our own product, grounds each caption in your brand kit and posts to Google Business Profile, starting free with no card. A studio that only needs its phone photos queued should look at Publer or Metricool first.

  • Which of these writes captions a tattoo artist can actually post?

Two generate the words: SpeedRun Social and Ocoya. SpeedRun Social grounds each caption in your brand kit and holds every post for approval, which keeps a style name or an artist credit from shipping before you have read it; that is our product and this is our list. Ocoya generates captions but leaves the rewrite to you. Later adds a small AI credit allowance on its Starter plan, and Publer, Metricool, GlossGenius and Square write nothing.

  • Do any of these post to my Google Business Profile?

It matters for a tattoo shop, because a walk-in searching for a tattoo shop nearby finds the Google listing before the feed. On the pages read on 17 September 2026, Publer named Google Business Profiles among the things it publishes, Metricool named Google Business Profile on its pricing page, and ours publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, Google Business Profile, and WordPress. Later and Ocoya did not name it on their pricing pages, and GlossGenius manages Google reviews rather than posting to the profile. Check the vendor's own integrations page before buying on this point, because a pricing page is not an integration list.

  • Is there a free social media tool for a tattoo studio?

Four on this list keep permanent free plans rather than countdowns. Publer's is free forever with 3 social accounts and 10 scheduled posts per account. Metricool's covers 1 brand and up to 20 scheduled posts a month. Square Appointments' free plan is $0 a month per location billed monthly, with a payment processing fee on each card. Ours is 300 credits a month refilled forever, one free campaign a week (3 posts, 1 video, 1 cross-post), no card, watermarked media on free. Later runs a 14-day trial, and Ocoya and GlossGenius run free trials rather than free plans.

  • What is the cheapest social media tool for a tattoo studio?

On the pages read on 17 September 2026, the cheapest paid plan of any kind was Publer Professional at $5.00 a month billed monthly or $4.00 billed yearly for one social account. The cheapest way to have the caption and the image made for you was Ocoya Starter at $29 a month billed monthly. Later's Starter read $18.75 a month billed yearly, though its monthly figure could not be confirmed. Four tools keep a permanent free tier: Publer, Metricool, Square Appointments and ours.

  • Do these tools book appointments or take deposits?

Only the last two. GlossGenius and Square Appointments take the appointment and the deposit, and they are the pick when the bottleneck is the chair rather than the feed. The schedulers and generators above them do not book or take money: SpeedRun Social, ours, does not connect to booking software, consultation forms or payment tools, and it publishes while the booking link on your profile still points at whatever you use today.

  • How much should a tattoo studio budget for this?

Budget roughly $5 to $50 a month for the social and booking half of a studio's software, on the figures read on 17 September 2026. The floor is Publer Professional at $5.00 a month billed monthly, and the ceiling for a single location is our Starter at $49.99 a month billed monthly or $39.99 billed annually, or Square Appointments Plus at $49 a month per location. Later's Starter read $18.75 a month billed yearly, GlossGenius Standard $28 a month billed monthly or $24 billed annually, and Ocoya Starter $29 a month billed monthly.

Try it on your own last piece

The free plans and trials above exist so a studio can put one real healed piece through two tools and compare what comes out. Ours is the entry with no countdown on it, and every post waits for your approval until you turn that off.

Every vendor figure on this page was read on 17 September 2026. Prices move; the links exist so you can check theirs and ours.
