Best AI social media tools for small business in 2026

Seven tools ordered by what the cheapest plan that covers the whole job costs, with every figure read from the vendor's own pricing page in both billing modes on one named date, by a company that sells one of them and says so before the ranking.

Ours is entry two, and it is one of the three here with a free plan rather than a countdown: 3 posts, 1 video and 1 cross-post a week, plus 300 credits a month refilled forever. No card asked for, and free-plan media carries a small watermark.

Simplified is the best AI social media tool for most small businesses: its cheapest complete plan writes the captions, generates the images and video, and publishes them to 7 social accounts, for $29 a month billed monthly or $19 a month billed annually (simplified.com/pricing, read 28 August 2026).

SpeedRun Social, our own product, does those same jobs and sits second because $49.99 a month billed monthly is what our own unwatermarked, uncapped plan costs, which is more than Simplified charges. Five more tools follow, each priced from the vendor's own page on 28 August 2026. The rule that produced this order is written out under the list, and the shorter answer to "what can I run on for nothing" is in the questions below it.

The seven tools, cheapest complete plan first

Every priced claim below links to the vendor page it was read from and the date it was read. Where a vendor publishes a monthly price and an annual one, both are here, because five of these six pages open with the annual figure already chosen for you.

  1. Simplified

Makes the posts and publishes them

Cheapest complete plan on the page, at $29 a month billed monthly

One workspace that generates captions, images, video and designs, then schedules them to the accounts you connect and collects the replies in a single inbox. Its cheapest plan is sized for one person rather than a team: one seat, one brand voice, and a credit allowance rather than an open tap.

    What it costs
The page opens on Yearly with an Upto 35% Off badge, and renders its prices inside a web component rather than as page text. Billed annually, Pro read $19 a month, Business $49 and Growth $149. Clicking Monthly changed the same three to $29, $79 and $199 a month, billed monthly. Pro covers 7 social media accounts, 1 seat, 1 brand style and voice, 10K generative AI credits, 1 AI agent and 5GB of storage. Business covers 15 accounts, 3 seats and 30K credits, Growth covers 30 accounts, 5 seats and 100K credits, and Enterprise is quoted on request. simplified.com/pricing, read 28 August 2026
    Best for
A small business owner doing all of this alone who wants the making and the posting on one monthly bill, and who is willing to pay from the first day rather than start on a free plan.

    Honest limitation

This page publishes no free plan and no free trial. The entry route is a 7-day trial priced at one dollar. Bulk post scheduling is not included on Pro or Business and is sold as an add-on at $19 a month billed monthly, with an extra social account at $5, an extra seat at $10 and an extra AI brandbook at $35 on the same terms. The 10K generative credits on the cheapest plan are the ceiling on how much the AI will make in a month, so a business posting daily should price the tier above it. simplified.com/pricing, read 28 August 2026

  2. SpeedRun Social

    our product

Makes the posts and publishes them

Same band at $49.99 a month billed monthly, plus a weekly campaign that needs no card

It reads your website into a brand kit, then generates captions, still images and short video together and holds them in an approval queue until you release them. Disclosure: this is our product, on our own list, and the ranking rule puts it second rather than first.

    What it costs
    Free plan: 300 credits/month refilled forever, 1 free campaign/week (3 posts + 1 video + 1 cross-post), no card required, watermarked media on free. Paid plans are $49.99, $99.99 and $199.99 a month billed monthly, or $39.99, $79.99 and $159.99 a month billed annually. speedrunsocial.com/pricing, read 28 August 2026
    Best for
A small business that wants to watch a real week of its own posts appear, video included, before it puts a card in anywhere.

    Honest limitation

Media generated on the free plan carries a watermark, and the included campaign is one a week rather than an open queue, which works out at 12 posts, 4 videos and 4 cross-posts a month. There is no shared inbox and no brand monitoring, so answering customers stays wherever you answer them now. We are the newest product on this list and have very few customers, which is a fair reason for a cautious buyer to start a trial somewhere with a longer record behind it. speedrunsocial.com/pricing, read 28 August 2026

  3. Predis.ai

Makes the posts and publishes them

Cheapest media generation here, but publishing starts at $79 a month billed monthly

A generator for single images, carousels and short video with the caption written alongside, priced under anything else here that makes media. Its position in this order is set by the tier that will post for you rather than the tier on the headline, and the gap between those two is the whole story of the entry.

    What it costs
The page opens on Annually behind a 50% off badge. Billed annually, Core read $19 a month printed as $230 Billed Yearly, Rise $40 a month printed as $474, and Enterprise+ $212 a month printed as $2,540. Clicking Monthly changed those three to $32, $79 and $249 a month, billed monthly. Monthly credit allowances are 1,300, 3,200 and 10,000, which the page itself translates for Core as roughly 86 AI images or 9 videos, and an extra brand is $5 a month with extra credits at $29. predis.ai/pricing, read 28 August 2026
    Best for
A small business that already pays for a scheduler, or is content to press publish itself, and wants only the picture-making part at the lowest price it can find.

    Honest limitation

The cheapest tier makes content it will not post. Core is listed as No Auto Posting with 1 brand and publishing to 10 channels, and auto posting first appears on Rise at $79 a month billed monthly or $40 a month billed annually, which is more than double the entry price in either mode. The pricing page shows no free plan and names no trial length, so the tier you actually need is the price you actually pay. predis.ai/pricing, read 28 August 2026

  4. Hootsuite

Makes the posts and publishes them

Widest coverage on the page, and the highest way in of the seven

The incumbent, and the only tool here that generates posts and images, answers messages from one inbox and monitors mentions inside a single product. It covers the whole job and then some, and it lands fourth purely on what the cheapest plan that does so costs a business with one or two people in it.

    What it costs
The plans page listed Standard at $99, Professional at $199 and Advanced at $399, each per user per month, beneath a footnote reading that prices are displayed in USD, based on annual billing. Enterprise is quoted on request. The page carries no billing toggle and publishes no month-to-month price, so the annual rate is the only rate it states. Standard covers up to 10 social accounts and lists generating posts and images with AI. The figures paint several seconds after load, and an early read of that page finds no dollar sign on it at all. hootsuite.com/plans, read 28 August 2026
    Best for
A small business with somebody already living in a shared inbox all day, and a budget that treats social media as a role rather than an evening task.

    Honest limitation

It is the only tool here with no free plan and no month-to-month option in print, so the cheapest honest way in is a year of commitment for one seat, and a second person on the account doubles it. Every tier carries a free 14-day trial, but the same page notes that trial accounts are capped at 10 to 20 posts per organization a day and cannot use bulk scheduling, so the trial is not a full-speed month either. hootsuite.com/plans, read 28 August 2026

  5. Buffer

Publishes and assists, but makes no images or video

Lowest way in of all seven, and a free plan with no clock on it

A calendar, a queue and an assistant that rewrites and repurposes the words you give it. For a business already photographing its own work on a phone, this is the shortest distance from a camera roll to a posting schedule, and the free plan can carry that arrangement for as long as you want it to.

    What it costs
A fresh load opens on the Yearly toggle, where Essentials read $5 and Team $10 per channel per month, printed as $60 and $120 billed yearly with a save 2 months note. Clicking Monthly changed the same two to $6 and $12 per channel per month, billed monthly. The free plan is free forever for up to 3 channels, with 10 scheduled posts per channel, 100 ideas, 1 user account and the AI Assistant included. Paid tiers carry a 14-day free trial, and the pricing FAQ dates the current prices to November 2025. buffer.com/pricing, read 28 August 2026
    Best for
A one or two person business that makes its own photos and captions already, and wants only the posting and the replying to stop being manual.

    Honest limitation

Its assistant refines and repurposes text and generates no images or video, so an empty calendar stays empty until somebody makes something to put in it. Billing is per channel rather than per business, so the bill climbs with every account connected up to the tenth, and the free plan holds 10 scheduled posts per channel, a single user and 5 AI reply suggestions a week. buffer.com/pricing, read 28 August 2026

  6. Metricool

Publishes and assists, but makes no images or video

Organic and paid numbers together, from $25 a month billed monthly

Scheduling and reporting in one place, with the paid advertising figures sitting beside the organic ones, which is not common at this price. Its free tier is the part a small business notices first, because it is a working plan with an assistant on it rather than a countdown.

    What it costs
The page opens on Annual behind a save up to 24% badge with the currency set to USD. Billed annually, Starter read from $20 a month and Advanced from $53. Clicking Monthly changed those to from $25 and from $67 a month, billed monthly. Within each plan the price is set by how many brands you manage: annually, Starter is $20 for up to 5 brands and $36 for up to 10, while Advanced is $53 for 15 brands, $85 for 25 and $159 for 50. Billed monthly the same steps read $25 and $45, then $67, $107 and $210. The Free plan is $0 a month. metricool.com/pricing, read 28 August 2026
    Best for
A small business running ads alongside its posts that wants both sets of numbers on one screen without buying a reporting tier to get them.

    Honest limitation

The free plan manages 1 brand, caps scheduling at 20 posts a month, keeps 30 days of analytics, and connects every network except LinkedIn and Twitter, so the two channels a lot of small businesses care about most are the two it leaves out. The LinkedIn connection arrives with Starter, and complete Twitter and X analytics only at Advanced. No tier generates images or video for you. metricool.com/pricing, read 28 August 2026

  7. SocialBee

Publishes and assists, but makes no images or video

Unlimited AI text on every tier, and a queue that recycles

Posts are filed into categories and cycled, which suits a business whose best material stays true all year: the same explainer and the same seasonal reminder coming back around on a rotation instead of dying after one outing. Every tier here says unlimited AI content generation, the cheapest one included.

    What it costs
The page opens on Yearly behind a 16% off badge. Billed annually, Bootstrap read $24.2, Accelerate $40.8 and Pro $82.5 per month. Clicking Monthly changed the same three to $29, $49 and $99 a month, billed monthly. Bootstrap connects up to 5 social profiles with 1 user, 1 workspace and 10 content categories, Accelerate reaches 10 profiles with 50 categories and adds post approval, bulk editing and CSV uploads, and Pro reaches 25 profiles with 3 users across 5 workspaces. socialbee.com/pricing, read 28 August 2026
    Best for
A small business sitting on evergreen posts and tips that could run again each quarter without anybody noticing they had run before.

    Honest limitation

There is no free plan, only a 14-day trial the page marks as needing no credit card, sitting alongside a 30-day money-back guarantee. The recycling is the reason to be here and also the catch: a queue sorted into categories still needs somebody to write and photograph the first version of every post, and the tools that do that part are higher up this page. socialbee.com/pricing, read 28 August 2026

How this list was ordered

The stake first: we build SpeedRun Social, it is entry two on this list, and Simplified is ranked above it. A roundup written by somebody who sells one of the products is worth a small business owner's time only if that is said before the ranking rather than in a line at the bottom, so it is said here.

On 28 August 2026 each vendor's own pricing page was opened in a browser, the address confirmed, and the figures read off the rendered page. All six paint their prices with JavaScript, and two of them resist a quick look: Hootsuite's figures appear several seconds after load, so an early read of that page finds no dollar sign on it, and Simplified renders its plan prices inside a web component whose value never reaches the page text at all. Nothing on this page comes from a review site, another roundup or an assistant's answer.

Five of the six pages open with the annual price already selected, so the first number a small business sees is usually a yearly commitment printed as a monthly one. On each of those the toggle was pressed and the figures were confirmed to change before both modes were written down, and every priced entry below gives the monthly-billed number and the annual one. Hootsuite is the exception, and it is labelled rather than patched: its plans page has no toggle and no month-to-month price, and making one up for symmetry would be worse than the gap.

The order is mechanical, so a reader can check it rather than trust it. First the band: entries one to four make the posts and publish them, entries five to seven publish and assist with posts somebody at the business already made. Then, inside each band, the monthly-billed price of the cheapest plan that covers that band's job: $29, $49.99, $79 and $99 in the first, then $6 a channel, $25 and $29 in the second. That rule is why our own entry sits second and not first, and why the tool with the widest coverage on the page sits fourth.

Price is not the only question a small business asks, and the rule above answers only that one. Three of these keep permanent free plans, which is a different list in a different order, and it is set out in the questions below. There are also no scores, stars, testimonials, review counts or user numbers here. We are new and have very few customers, so a rating from us would imply a bake-off nobody ran. Prices move, so open the linked page before any number here decides anything.

Questions small businesses ask about this list

  • What is the best AI social media tool for a small business?

Simplified, for a small business that wants one tool to make the posts and publish them. Its Pro tier read $29 a month billed monthly or $19 a month billed annually, covering 7 social accounts, 1 seat and 10K generative AI credits (simplified.com/pricing, read 28 August 2026). SpeedRun Social, our own product, does the same jobs and adds short video, at $49.99 a month for the cheapest plan without a watermark. A business that only needs its existing posts scheduled should look at Buffer instead, which starts free.

  • Which AI social media tools have a genuinely free plan for small business?

Three of the seven, and they are not the same three that lead the ranking. Buffer is free forever for up to 3 channels, with 10 scheduled posts per channel, 1 user and its AI Assistant included. Metricool's free plan covers 1 brand and 20 scheduled posts a month, but connects every network except LinkedIn and Twitter. Ours is 300 credits/month refilled forever, 1 free campaign/week (3 posts + 1 video + 1 cross-post), no card required, watermarked media on free, which works out at 12 posts, 4 videos and 4 cross-posts a month. The rest run trials only: Hootsuite and SocialBee 14 days, Simplified a 7-day trial priced at one dollar rather than nothing, and Predis.ai's pricing page names no trial at all.

  • Which of these actually make the images and video, and which only post them?

Simplified, SpeedRun Social, Predis.ai and Hootsuite generate media. Buffer, Metricool and SocialBee publish and analyse what you bring, which for a small business usually means somebody still has to take the photograph and write the first draft. Predis.ai is the one that sits on the line: it generates images and carousels on every tier, but its cheapest tier is listed as No Auto Posting, so publishing only begins one tier up.

  • How much should a small business expect to pay for one of these?

On the figures read on 28 August 2026, a small business doing the whole job through one tool lands between roughly $19 and $99 a month. Simplified Pro was $29 a month billed monthly or $19 billed annually, Predis.ai needs its $79 tier before it will publish, and Hootsuite starts at $99 per user per month with no month-to-month rate in print. Our own ladder is Paid plans are $49.99, $99.99 and $199.99 a month billed monthly, or $39.99, $79.99 and $159.99 a month billed annually. A business that only needs scheduling pays far less: Buffer was $6 per channel per month billed monthly, or $5 billed annually.

  • Why is the tool you sell ranked second on your own list rather than first?

Because the ranking rule is a number rather than an opinion, and the number does not favour us. The order inside each band is the monthly-billed price of the cheapest plan that covers that band's job. Ours is $49.99 a month, since the free plan watermarks its media and caps you at one campaign a week, and Simplified covers the same job for $29. If the question is instead what you can run on without a card, our free plan produces more posts a month than Buffer's or Metricool's, and that comparison is in the free-plan answer above.

Run a week through two of them

The free plans and trials above exist so a small business can put one real week of its own work through two tools and compare what comes out the other end. Ours is one of the three with no countdown on it, and every post waits for your approval until you turn that off.

Every vendor figure on this page was read on 28 August 2026. Prices move; the links exist so you can check theirs and ours.
