A Metricool alternative that makes the content, not the chart
Metricool is built around measurement: dashboards, competitor analysis and reports in one tab. SpeedRun Social makes the content itself, then publishes after you approve. Below is whose labour each tool assumes, where Metricool is genuinely stronger, and every figure sourced to their own pages.
The same week, run two ways
Feature tables hide the real difference, which is whose labour fills the calendar.
A week inside Metricool
A week inside Metricool is a week of looking. You connect your brands, and the tool assembles the numbers: how each account is performing, how competitors are doing, what the reports say. Dashboards, campaign views and scheduled reports pull the data into one tab, and the analytics side is where it is strongest. Then the content itself still has to be made. The calendar schedules posts, but the posts have to come from somewhere, and the dashboards will not write them for you.
A week inside SpeedRun
A week inside SpeedRun is a week of making. The tool read your website when you signed up, so each week it turns up with the campaign already built: image posts, a short video and a cross-post, captions written per platform, imagery from your own brand. You review, tweak and approve, and the posts publish natively. There is no dashboard to read first, because the deliverable is the posts themselves rather than a report about them.

| What to compare | SpeedRun Social | Metricool |
|---|---|---|
| The free plan | A free plan, not a trial: one free campaign every week of 3 image posts, 1 short video and 1 cross-post, with the Brand Kit included and 300 credits a month that refill for as long as the account exists. No card is asked for. Media made on the free plan carries a small watermark that paid plans remove. | The free plan was described as: "Manage 1 brand", manage social networks except LinkedIn and Twitter, "Schedule up to 20 posts per month", "Analyze 5 competitor profiles", "Access 30 days of analytics", an "AI social media assistant" and "Metricool MCP". The FAQ stated "Yes! You can use Metricool for free, forever."Source: metricool.com/pricing, checked 18 August 2026 |
| Where a post starts | A post starts at your website. SpeedRun turns the site into a Brand Kit, then generates the caption, the image and the video from that kit, so nothing begins with a prompt library or a blank text box. | The pricing page listed an "AI social media assistant" on the Free plan and "Custom AI assistant credits" on the Custom plan. The home page read "Use the AI assistant and say goodbye to blank pages" and "Our AI social media assistant is ready to spark ideas", and described reporting as "automated reports, AI analysis, campaign dashboards, and Looker Studio connection."Source: metricool.com, checked 18 August 2026 |
| Paid ladder | $49.99 a month on Starter, or $39.99 a month billed annually. $199.99 a month on Pro, or $159.99 a month billed annually, and nothing quote-only sits above it. | The pricing page listed four plans with a Monthly/Annual toggle labeled "Annual (save up to 24%)" and USD as the default currency. Free was listed at $0 a month. Starter was listed "from $25/month" monthly or "from $20/month" annually, with "Up to 5 brands for $25/month" and "Up to 10 brands for $45/month". Advanced was listed "from $67/month" monthly or "from $53/month" annually, with "Up to 15 brands for $67/month", "Up to 25 brands for $107/month" and "Manage up to 50 brands for $210/month". Custom was listed as "Let's talk!", and the page noted "The prices indicated do not include any applicable VAT."Source: metricool.com/pricing, checked 18 August 2026 |
| Making posts, or measuring them | SpeedRun makes the posts; it does not build competitor benchmarks, multi-brand analytics dashboards or scheduled client reports. If the job is measuring a feed's performance across brands, count this row for Metricool. | The home page described "Analytics (without the headache): Turn data into smart decisions" and to "Generate reports in minutes", and stated "Join over 3.5 million professionals who use Metricool".Source: metricool.com, checked 18 August 2026 |

Where Metricool is the stronger tool
Anchored to what Metricool states on its own pages, checked 18 August 2026.
You measure more than you post
Metricool's dashboards, competitor analysis and scheduled reports are the product; SpeedRun makes the posts and reports far less. If your day is spent reading analytics and reporting to clients, their shape matches the work and ours does not.
A free plan for analytics, forever
Metricool offers a permanent free plan with analytics and competitor tracking, not a trial. Our free plan is about making posts, with a watermark on free media. If what you need for free is measurement rather than content, theirs fits and ours does not.
Threads and Bluesky are on your list
Metricool listed Threads and Bluesky alongside the usual networks. SpeedRun does not publish to either of them yet. If those two networks carry real weight for your audience, that is a concrete reason to pick them over us.
Many brands under one roof
Metricool prices by brand and lists plans that reach up to 50 brands. SpeedRun makes one campaign a week for one business's own brand. If you manage several brands and want them in a single dashboard, their ladder fits the work and ours does not.
Questions people ask on the way in
Is SpeedRun Social a drop-in Metricool replacement?
For making the posts, mostly. Both tools schedule and publish natively. The difference is the centre of gravity: Metricool is built around analytics and reporting, while SpeedRun generates the campaign from your website and photos. What we do not replace is the measurement layer, competitor benchmarks and multi-brand dashboards. If analytics is why you are buying, read the concessions above before switching.
What exactly does the free plan include?
One free campaign every week: 3 image posts, 1 short video and 1 cross-post. It comes with the Brand Kit, 300 credits a month that refill for as long as you keep the account, and no card requirement. Media made on the free plan carries a small watermark, which paid plans remove.
Metricool is an analytics tool. Does SpeedRun Social do analytics?
Not the way Metricool does. SpeedRun makes and publishes the posts, and it does not build competitor benchmarks, campaign dashboards or scheduled client reports. If you need to prove performance to clients in a report, Metricool is built for that and we are not.
Do I have to write prompts?
No. Setup asks for your website and pulls your services, colours and photography into a Brand Kit. Every post afterwards is generated from that kit. You can steer the output by editing the kit or any single post, but a blank text box is never the starting point.
Which platforms does it publish to?
Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Google Business Profile and Mailchimp, natively, on the schedule you approve. Two honest gaps against Metricool: we do not publish to Threads or Bluesky.
How current are the Metricool figures on this page?
Every figure was read off metricool.com's own home and pricing pages on 18 August 2026, and each claim links to the page it came from. We do not quote competitor numbers from review sites or roundups. Treat every number here as a snapshot, and recheck metricool.com before any figure on this page decides for you.

Judge it on your own brand
