Ranked for dental practices

Best social media tools for dentists in 2026

Seven tools ranked by how much of a practice's week gets made and posted without a patient in the frame, with every price read from the vendor's own page on one named date by a company that sells one of them and says so before the ranking.

Ours is entry two, not entry one. It starts free every week: 3 posts, 1 video, 1 cross-post, plus 300 credits a month refilled forever. No card asked for, and free-plan media carries a small watermark.

Ask which tool actually keeps a dental practice posting without anyone touching a patient photo, and the honest answer this month is ContentStudio. Its Standard tier bundles the caption, the image and the posting itself for $29 a month billed monthly, or $19 billed annually (contentstudio.io/pricing, read 4 September 2026). SpeedRun Social, ours, sits at entry two.

ContentStudio wins that comparison on price, and we are not pretending otherwise: it beats our cheapest paid plan by roughly twenty-one dollars a month for a similar weekly output. What we add is a full free week with no card and no countdown clock. Six competitors below are ordered by one question, how much of a week gets made and posted without a patient ever appearing in frame, priced from what each company's own site showed on 4 September 2026.

The seven tools, ranked by how much they cover

Every priced claim below links to the vendor page it was read from and the date it was read. Where a vendor publishes a monthly price and an annual one, both are quoted, because most of these pages open on a discounted view.

  1. ContentStudio

Makes the post and the caption without a patient photo, then publishes it

Cheapest plan that writes the caption and publishes it

Caption and image come out of it together, scheduled automatically, and none of that publishing sits behind a pricier tier the way it does everywhere else on this list. A practice with no designer on staff and a firm no-patient-photos policy gets the whole job handled on the cheapest plan ContentStudio sells, which is why it opens this ranking.

    What it costs
Its plan cards read Standard at $29 a month billed monthly, or $19 a month billed annually printed as $228 a year, for 5 social accounts, 1 workspace, 1 user, 25,000 AI text credits, 25 AI image credits and 100 AI video credits. Advanced read $69 a month billed monthly or $49 billed annually (printed as $588 a year) for 10 accounts, and Agency Unlimited read $139 a month billed monthly or $99 billed annually (printed as $1,188 a year) for unlimited accounts. Its own FAQ states plainly that paying yearly drops Standard from $29 to $19 a month, a saving of up to 34%. contentstudio.io/pricing, read 4 September 2026
    Best for
Best suited to a practice ready to pay starting month one, wanting writing, image-making and publishing handled together across a handful of connected accounts.

    Honest limitation

There is no free plan. The page states outright that it does not offer a free forever plan, and the way in is a 7-day trial with no card. Standard seats one user, and the social inbox sits on Advanced at $69 a month billed monthly or $49 billed annually, so a practice that wants the front desk drafting and the dentist approving is shopping the second tier. Media generation on Standard is metered at 25 AI image credits and 100 AI video credits a month, and its pricing page names no dental-specific feature at all. contentstudio.io/pricing, read 4 September 2026

  2. SpeedRun Social

    our product

Makes the post and the caption without a patient photo, then publishes it

Same coverage, plus video, and a free week that needs no card

Point it at your practice's website and it builds a brand kit from what is already there, then drafts captions and images from your own office material, never a patient's face, holding every post for approval until somebody at the practice releases it. Disclosure: this is our product, on our own list, and ContentStudio is ranked above it because its paid plan does the same job for less money.

    What it costs
Free plan: 300 credits a month refilled forever, 1 free campaign a week (3 posts, 1 video, 1 cross-post), no card required, media watermarked on the free plan. Paid plans are $49.99, $99.99 and $199.99 a month billed monthly, or $39.99, $79.99 and $159.99 a month billed annually. speedrunsocial.com/pricing, read 4 September 2026
    Best for
A practice that wants to watch a full week of its own drafts appear and approve them from a phone, before paying for anything.

    Honest limitation

Our cheapest paid plan costs $20.99 more a month than ContentStudio's, media generated on the free plan carries a watermark, and there is no social inbox and no review monitoring, so a message left on your Google listing still waits wherever it waits now. We are the youngest company on this list by some distance, and a practice that wants software with a long track record has a fair reason to start with somebody else. speedrunsocial.com/pricing, read 4 September 2026

  3. Predis.ai

Makes the graphic, and only the dearer tier publishes it

Most generated media per dollar, once you pay to publish it

Feed it a line of text and it returns images and short video with captions attached, more generated media per dollar on its entry tier than anything else on this page. That entry tier will not publish a single one of them for you, though, and the catch is worth reading before signing up.

    What it costs
The page read Core at $24 a month whether billed monthly or paid $288 billed yearly, marked down from a $32 regular rate, with 1,300 credits a month (roughly 86 AI images or 9 videos), 1 brand and 10 social channels. Rise read $55 a month either way, printed as $664 billed yearly and marked down from $79, with 3,200 credits, up to 4 brands and 20 channels. Enterprise+ read $212 a month either way, printed as $2,540 billed yearly and marked down from $249, with 10,000 credits and unlimited brands. Extra brands cost $5 a month, extra channels $5 to $99, and extra credits $29. predis.ai/pricing, read 4 September 2026
    Best for
Fits a practice comfortable posting by hand, or one already running a separate scheduler, mainly wanting a stack of service graphics at the lowest price here.

    Honest limitation

The cheapest tier will not post for you. Core is listed with no auto-posting alongside its 1,300 credits, so automatic publishing starts at Rise, $55 a month billed monthly or billed yearly. The page shows no free plan, so the real entry price for a practice that wants this to run unattended is the Rise number, not the Core one. predis.ai/pricing, read 4 September 2026

  4. Buffer

Publishes what the front desk already photographed

Smallest step from a phone photo to a posting queue

Strip away everything but the calendar and the queue, priced per channel instead of per seat, and Buffer is what is left. A practice whose real content is office photography, nothing generated, gets from a camera roll to a live post in fewer steps than anywhere else on this list.

    What it costs
With the billing toggle set to Yearly, Essentials read $5 a month per channel billed annually, printed as $60 a year, and Team read $10 a month per channel billed annually, printed as $120 a year. Switching to Monthly changed the same two to $6 and $12 a month per channel billed monthly. A free forever plan covers up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel and 1 user, paid tiers carry a 14-day trial, and the page's own FAQ dates its last price change to November 2025. buffer.com/pricing, read 4 September 2026
    Best for
Right for a practice that already has photos of the waiting room and staff, and needs them queued rather than posted whenever somebody remembers.

    Honest limitation

It creates no images or video, so somebody at the practice still has to photograph the office and write the first draft. Billing is per channel, so a second location's Facebook page is a second bill. Its feature comparison table now lists Google Business Profile with automatic publishing included, which reads differently than the last time a sibling page on this site checked it. buffer.com/pricing, read 4 September 2026

  5. Later

Publishes what the front desk already photographed

A caption assistant bolted onto a visual calendar

Later leans on a visual grid, and its AI tool writes captions and floats post ideas once a topic gets set. Nothing gets generated from scratch here, only edited, so it pairs best with a practice that already owns usable office photography.

    What it costs
Its Starter plan read $25 a month billed monthly, or $18.75 a month billed annually (a 25% discount plus 3 months free), for 1 social set covering 8 profiles and 5 AI idea credits a month. Growth read $50 a month billed monthly or $37.50 billed annually for 2 social sets, and Scale read $110 a month billed monthly or $82.50 billed annually for 6 social sets. later.com/pricing, read 4 September 2026
    Best for
Good for a practice with somebody who enjoys arranging a feed visually and wants prompts rather than a schedule that lives or dies on memory.

    Honest limitation

It writes captions and suggests ideas but generates no images or video of its own, only edits media you upload. There is no free forever plan, only a 14-day trial, and its pricing page makes no mention of Google Business Profile at all. later.com/pricing, read 4 September 2026

  6. Metricool

Publishes what the front desk already photographed

Scheduling plus analytics, with Google Business Profile in the list

Analytics ride along with the scheduling here, and Google Business Profile gets named directly on the pricing page, worth noting since a new patient usually searches before they scroll a feed. Paying for Metricool means paying about as much for the reporting as for the posting.

    What it costs
Billed annually, its page read Starter from $20 a month for 5 brands or $36 for 10, and Advanced from $53 a month for 15 brands, $85 for 25, or $159 for 50. Billed monthly, the same tiers read $25, $45, then $67, $107 and $210. A free tier covers 1 brand and up to 20 scheduled posts a month, and Google Business Profile appears on the page as a supported network. metricool.com/pricing, read 4 September 2026
    Best for
Suited to a practice with someone willing to read a monthly report, wanting the Google listing and the social accounts scheduled from a single dashboard.

    Honest limitation

It makes no images or video, so the practice still has to supply what gets posted. The free tier caps at 20 posts a month and leaves out LinkedIn and X, and its cheapest paid tier is sized for an agency managing several brands, more capacity than most single-location practices use. metricool.com/pricing, read 4 September 2026

  7. Vista Social

Publishes it, and chases the reviews too

Handles the reviews too, at the highest entry price

Nowhere else on this list bundles review management and a shared inbox with the publishing itself. A practice that loses more prospective patients to an ignored Google review than to a quiet feed is buying a different product than everything ranked above it.

    What it costs
Professional read $79 a month billed monthly, or $758 a year billed annually (a 20% discount), for 15 social profiles, 2 users, review tools on Facebook and Google Business, and a shared inbox. Advanced read $149 a month billed monthly or $1,430 billed annually for 30 profiles and review tools across 8 platforms. Scale read $349 a month billed monthly or $3,638 billed annually for 70 profiles. Every tier carries a 14-day trial with no card. vistasocial.com/pricing, read 4 September 2026
    Best for
Makes sense for a multi-chair or multi-location practice already answering reviews and messages daily, treating the software line item as routine rather than a stretch.

    Honest limitation

There is no free plan, and $79 a month billed monthly is the highest entry price on this list, roughly $50 more than ContentStudio for the part a practice cannot do alone. Its cheapest tier is sized at 15 social profiles and 2 users, more capacity than a single practice location needs, and it generates no images or video of its own. vistasocial.com/pricing, read 4 September 2026

How this list was ranked

Before the ranking, the conflict: we build SpeedRun Social, it sits at entry two on this list, and ContentStudio is ranked ahead of it. A dentist reading a vendor's own roundup deserves that sentence at the top, not folded into a footnote below the fold.

Every number below came from a live browser session on 4 September 2026, not a cached snapshot: two of these vendors bury their true monthly rate behind a billing toggle that a plain page fetch never touches, so both required clicking through by hand. Nothing here is copied from a review site, a rival's roundup, or an AI summary of either.

A pattern worth flagging: most of these pricing pages default to the annual number, which looks smaller and is not what most buyers actually pay in month one. Every entry below states both figures side by side for that reason, since a fair comparison against our own monthly-quoted plans requires it.

Here is the rule behind the order: a dental practice that has not sorted out patient-photo consent, which describes most of them, can only post office photography, brand material, or nothing at all. So rank by how much of a week gets made and posted without anyone photographing a person, then break ties by the cheapest plan that gets there. Positions one and two generate the image and the caption and publish both. Position three generates the image but withholds publishing until a dearer tier. Positions four through six only publish whatever the practice already shot itself.

Reorder this list around answering patients instead, and Vista Social jumps from last to first, since it is the only entry here bundling review management with a shared inbox. One dental-specific platform, Weave, was tried during this research and dropped entirely: its own pricing page lists phones, patient texting, reviews and email, and names no social-posting feature anywhere on it, so it has no business on a social media list regardless of what it costs.

No stars appear anywhere on this page, no score out of five, no patient count. We are a small, young company, and assigning a rating to seven products would dress up a study that was never run. Everything below was accurate on one specific afternoon in September; click through to the vendor before trusting any of it with your budget.

Questions dentists ask about this list

  • What is the best social media tool for a dental practice?

ContentStudio, if the goal is having the caption and the image produced and posted without anyone touching a camera. Its Standard tier priced at $29 a month billed monthly, or $19 billed annually, bundles publishing into the cheapest plan rather than holding it back for a pricier one (contentstudio.io/pricing, read 4 September 2026). SpeedRun Social does the same job and throws in a free weekly campaign with no card required, landing second because it costs more once a practice actually pays. A practice that already photographs its own office and just needs the posting queued is better served by Buffer or Metricool.

  • What is the cheapest social media tool for a dental practice?

Among everything read on 4 September 2026, Buffer Essentials came in lowest at $5 a month per channel billed annually, or $6 billed monthly. For generated images specifically, Predis.ai Core undercut everyone at $24 a month, though its cheapest tier refuses to publish anything for you. Both Buffer and Metricool keep permanent free tiers rather than time-limited trials, same as ours.

  • Is there a free social media tool for a dental practice?

Two names here run permanent free tiers instead of a countdown clock. Buffer gives 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts per channel and 1 user, forever, at no cost. Metricool covers a single brand and up to 20 scheduled posts monthly, minus LinkedIn and X. Ours: 300 credits a month refilled forever, 1 free campaign a week (3 posts, 1 video, 1 cross-post), no card required, media watermarked on the free plan. ContentStudio and Vista Social offer trials instead, seven days and fourteen, and Predis.ai's page lists no free option at all.

  • Can a practice run this without posting patient photos?

Yes, on every tool on this list. Generated images are built from a brand kit, a logo and colors, or from photography you upload yourself, and none of the seven require a patient photo to function. Whether and how your practice uses patient images at all is a decision for your own consent policy, not something a scheduling tool sets for you.

  • Do any of these mention Google Business Profile?

This carries more weight for a dental practice than for most trades, since a new patient searches before they call. On the pages checked 4 September 2026, Buffer's own feature table listed Google Business Profile with automatic publishing included, and Metricool named Google Business Profile as a supported network right on its pricing page. Later's page said nothing about it. Confirm on the vendor's own integrations page before buying on this point alone, since a pricing page is not the same document.

  • How much should a dental practice expect to pay?

Working from the figures read 4 September 2026, a reasonable range runs from about $6 to $79 a month. Buffer Essentials landed at $6 a month billed monthly or $5 billed annually, ContentStudio Standard at $29 billed monthly or $19 billed annually, Metricool Starter at $25 billed monthly or $20 billed annually, and Vista Social Professional at $79 billed monthly or $758 a year billed annually. Ours: Paid plans are $49.99, $99.99 and $199.99 a month billed monthly, or $39.99, $79.99 and $159.99 a month billed annually. Two of these seven let a small practice running one Facebook page and a Google listing start without spending anything.
