Ranked for auto repair shops

Best social media tools for auto repair shops in 2026

Two questions decide this list: does it write like my trade, and does it post for me? Seven tools ranked by which of those jobs each one takes off the counter, with every price read from the vendor's own page on one named date, by a company that sells one of the seven and says so before the ranking.

We rank second on our own page. Our free plan runs every week: 3 posts, 1 video, 1 cross-post, plus 300 credits a month refilled forever. No card asked for, and free-plan media carries a small watermark.

Does it write like my trade, and does it post for me? Those two questions decide this list, and Ocoya answers both at the lowest price: its Starter tier writes the caption and posts it for $29 a month billed monthly (ocoya.com/pricing, read 15 September 2026).

SpeedRun Social, our own product, sits second. It reads your shop's website into a brand kit and writes the caption in that voice, but it costs more than Ocoya's Starter, and what it adds on top is short video and a week you can run without a card. The other five are ranked below, and the two questions that produced the order are spelled out underneath them.

One more thing before the prices: these seven are not one kind of software. Three generate the caption and the media, and four schedule whatever a tech photographs. The ranking below shows which band each one sits in, so you can skip the rows that run a different part of your week than the part you came to fix.

Seven tools, ranked on two questions

Every priced claim links to the vendor page it was read from, with the date. Where a page publishes only one billing mode, the entry says so instead of guessing the other.

  1. Ocoya

Writes like your shop and posts it for you

Lowest price that writes the caption and posts it

It generates the caption and the image together, schedules them and posts them, and it does that on its cheapest tier rather than holding publishing back for a dearer one. For a shop where the marketing budget is whatever is left after parts and payroll, that combination at twenty-nine dollars is the reason it opens this list.

    What it costs
With the Monthly toggle selected, its plan cards listed Starter at $29 a month for 1 user, 5 social profiles and 300 credits, Team at $79 for 5 users, 20 profiles and 1,500 credits, and Agency at $199 for 20 users, 100 profiles and 5,000 credits, with anything larger pointed at a custom plan. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, and the page carries a Yearly (2 months free) control that, when pressed, left every figure unchanged, so the annual discount is advertised there without an annual rate being printed. ocoya.com/pricing, checked 15 September 2026
    Best for
A one or two bay shop that has never posted consistently and wants the whole week handled, caption to calendar, for the smallest monthly number on this page.

    Where it stops

There is no free plan, only a 7-day trial, which is a short runway in a trade where the photos worth posting come out of the bay between jobs rather than on a clock. The Starter tier is sized for one user and five social profiles, so a shop with a service writer who posts and a second person who replies is already looking at the $79 a month billed monthly Team step rather than the $29 one that opens this list. ocoya.com/pricing, checked 15 September 2026

  2. SpeedRun Social

    our product

Writes like your shop and posts it for you

Reads your shop's site, then writes and posts the week

It reads your own website into a brand kit, then generates captions, images and short video grounded in that kit and holds them in an approval queue until you release them, so the first drafts talk about brakes, alignments and diagnostics rather than car care in general. Disclosure: this is our product, on our own list, and Ocoya is ranked above it because Ocoya covers the same weekly job for less money.

    What it costs
    Free plan: 300 credits/month refilled forever, 1 free campaign/week (3 posts + 1 video + 1 cross-post), no card required, watermarked media on free. Paid plans are $49.99, $99.99 and $199.99 a month billed monthly, or $39.99, $79.99 and $159.99 a month billed annually. speedrunsocial.com/pricing, checked 15 September 2026
    Best for
A shop that wants to watch a full week of its own posts appear, in its own voice, before paying for anything, and that wants short video rather than stills alone.

    Where it stops

Our cheapest paid plan costs more than Ocoya's Starter, free-plan media carries a watermark, and we are the youngest product on this list with a customer roster you could read out in a minute. We do not chase reviews or watch what customers write about you afterward, so a shop that loses more work to unanswered reviews than to a quiet feed should read Vista Social's entry first. speedrunsocial.com/pricing, checked 15 September 2026

  3. Predis.ai

Makes the media, posts only on the dearer tiers

Most generated media per dollar, if you press publish

It turns a line of text into images, carousels and short video with captions attached, and its cheapest tier buys more generated media than anything else on this list. The catch is in the tier list rather than the headline number, and it is spelled out in the limitation beside this.

    What it costs
The page opens on Annually with a 30% off badge. Billed annually, Core read $24 a month printed as $288 billed yearly, Rise $55 a month printed as $664 billed yearly, and Enterprise+ $212 a month printed as $2,540 billed yearly. Switching to Monthly changed the same three to $32, $79 and $249 a month billed monthly. Core carries 1,300 credits a month, which the page translates as roughly 86 AI images or 9 videos, and add-ons price an extra brand at $5 a month and a social channel at $5 a month. predis.ai/pricing, checked 15 September 2026
    Best for
A shop that is happy to post by hand, or already pays a scheduler, and wants a month of brake, tire and diagnostic graphics for the lowest possible price.

    Where it stops

The cheapest tier will not post for you. Core is listed as No Auto Posting beside 1 brand and publishing to 10 channels, so automatic publishing starts at Rise, which is $79 a month billed monthly or $55 a month billed annually. The page shows no free plan, and its trial takes a card up front and charges it when day seven ends, so the real entry price for a shop that wants this to run unattended is the Rise number rather than the Core one. predis.ai/pricing, checked 15 September 2026

  4. Publer

    Posts what your tech photographed

Cheapest paid plan here, and it posts to Google

A scheduler priced per social account rather than per seat, which suits a shop that runs one Facebook page and a Google profile and little else. Its plans page names Google Business among the things it publishes, so a photo of the pitted rotor can go to the profile a customer reaches through a map search rather than only to a feed.

    What it costs
Its plans page prints both modes inside the same card, above a Monthly and Yearly (2 months free) control. With the social account selector at its default of 1, Professional read $5.00 a month billed monthly or $4.00 a month billed yearly, and Business read $10.00 a month billed monthly or $8.00 a month billed yearly. A free forever tier is listed at $0.00 with 1 user, 1 workspace, 3 social accounts excluding X, 10 scheduled posts per account, 25 saved drafts and a 24-hour post history. Professional carries a 7-day trial and Business a 14-day one. publer.com/plans, checked 15 September 2026
    Best for
A shop whose techs do photograph the bay, and which wants those photos queued for a few dollars a month instead of posted at eleven at night.

    Where it stops

It generates no images and no video, so an empty camera roll stays an empty calendar, and the caption is still written by whoever runs the page. Pricing is per social account, the free tier excludes X entirely, and it holds published posts for only 24 hours on that tier. publer.com/plans, checked 15 September 2026

  5. Buffer

    Posts what your tech photographed

Smallest step from a phone camera roll to a queue

A calendar, a queue and very little standing between the two. For a crew already photographing finished jobs on a phone, this is the shortest distance to a posting schedule, and its free tier can carry a single shop indefinitely without ever becoming a bill.

    What it costs
Its page loaded with the Yearly toggle already selected and printed Essentials at $5 a month per channel, billed as $60 a year, and Team at $10 a month per channel, billed as $120 a year, each badged save 2 months. This fetch never got the page to show a different toggle state, so the Monthly-selected figure could not be confirmed on this read, and the numbers above should be read as the Yearly-billed mode only. The Free plan covers up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel, 100 ideas, 1 user account and the AI Assistant, forever. buffer.com/pricing, checked 15 September 2026
    Best for
A shop whose only real problem is that posting is manual, and which would rather not learn a second piece of software this year.

    Where it stops

It creates no images or video, so somebody at the shop still has to photograph the bay and write the first draft. Billing is per channel, so a second location's Facebook page is a second bill, and because this read could not confirm the Monthly-billed price, a shop that pays month to month should read buffer.com/pricing directly before assuming the annual figure above applies to them. buffer.com/pricing, checked 15 September 2026

  6. Metricool

    Posts what your tech photographed

Scheduling plus the numbers, and Google in the list

A scheduler with analytics and competitor tracking attached, and Google Business Profile named on the pricing page itself. A shop that wants to know whether posting is doing anything, rather than only that it happened, is paying for the reporting half as much as the publishing half.

    What it costs
Its plans page carries an Annual (save up to 24%) and Monthly control and renders both ladders at once. The dearer ladder, which that discount label makes the one billed monthly, listed Starter from $25 a month for 5 brands and $45 for 10, and Advanced from $67 a month for 15 brands, $107 for 25 and $210 for 50. The cheaper ladder, billed annually, listed the same tiers at $20 and $36, then $53, $85 and $159. A free tier is listed at $0 a month covering 1 brand, every network except LinkedIn and X, up to 20 scheduled posts a month, 5 competitor profiles and 30 days of analytics. metricool.com/pricing, checked 15 September 2026
    Best for
A multi-location shop, or one large enough to care whether the posts move anything, with somebody willing to read a monthly report.

    Where it stops

It makes no images or video either, and its entry ladder starts at five brands, which is four more than a single shop has, so the cheapest paid tier is priced for an agency and sold to a shop at the same number. The free tier caps scheduling at 20 posts a month and leaves out LinkedIn and X. The page prints two price ladders at once and switches between them with a control that did not re-render on this read, so which ladder is which is stated above as a reading of its own discount label rather than something observed changing. metricool.com/pricing, checked 15 September 2026

  7. Vista Social

    Posts what your tech photographed

Handles the reviews as well, at the highest entry price

The only tool on this list whose plan cards name review management and a social inbox alongside publishing. It ranks last on the measure this page uses and would rank near the top on a different one, which the method section below states rather than buries.

    What it costs
Its plan cards open on the yearly figures, and the page carries a Monthly and Yearly (save 20%) control. Professional read $79 a month billed monthly, or $64 a month printed as $758 billed yearly, for 15 social profiles and 2 users. Advanced read $149 a month billed monthly, or $120 a month printed as $1,430 billed yearly, for 30 profiles and 4 users. Scale read $349 a month billed monthly, or $304 a month printed as $3,638 billed yearly, for 70 profiles and 8 users. Every tier is marked free for 14 days with no credit card required. vistasocial.com/pricing, checked 15 September 2026
    Best for
A multi-bay shop where somebody already answers reviews and messages daily, and where the software budget is a line item rather than an afterthought.

    Where it stops

There is no free plan, and $79 a month billed monthly is the highest entry price on this page, nearly three times what Ocoya asks to do the part a shop cannot do alone. Its cheapest tier is sized at 15 social profiles and 2 users, a capacity a single shop will not use, so a small shop pays for an agency's shape. It also generates no images or video, and Google Business Profile is not in the integrations list on its page. vistasocial.com/pricing, checked 15 September 2026

How this list was put in order

The stake first: we build SpeedRun Social, it is entry two of seven, and Ocoya sits above it. A roundup written by a vendor earns a shop owner's time only when the vendor says so before the ranking rather than in a line under it, so it is said here.

Every figure on this page comes from a fetch of the vendor's own pricing page on 15 September 2026, read in a real browser with the address bar checked against the address requested. Nothing is restated from a review site, another roundup or an assistant's answer, and each priced claim carries the vendor's own link and the date it was read.

Billing modes are named everywhere a price appears. Predis.ai, Publer, Metricool and Vista Social publish a monthly rate and an annual one, and their entries quote both. Ocoya's page carries a Yearly (2 months free) control that leaves every figure unchanged when pressed, so no annual rate is printed there and its entry quotes the monthly figures only. Buffer's page opened on its Yearly toggle and would not show its Monthly figures to a direct fetch, so its entry quotes the Yearly numbers and says the Monthly ones could not be confirmed. Our own ladder is quoted in both modes for the same reason.

The ranking runs on the two questions a shop owner asks at the counter: does it write like my trade, and does it post for me? An auto repair shop's marketing asset is already sitting in the bay, the pitted rotor, the scan readout, the car up on the lift, and a tech can snap that between jobs. So the list is ordered by how much of a week each tool turns that photo into on its own: the caption written in the shop's voice, the image or video made, and the post sent without someone at the counter doing it after close. Entries one and two write like your shop and post it. Three makes the media and will not post below its second tier. Four through seven post what the tech photographed and leave the words to you.

That measure puts Vista Social last, and it would place near the top of a list ranked on answering customers, because it is the only tool here whose plan cards carry review management and an inbox. A shop that loses more work to unanswered reviews than to an empty feed should read its entry first rather than last. Google Business Profile is worth the same attention: Ocoya, Publer, Buffer and Metricool all name it, Predis.ai lists Google Business Profiles among its channels, and Vista Social's page does not name it at all.

No stars, no scores, no customer counts, ours least of all: we are the youngest company on this page. Every figure was true on one morning in September; open the vendor's link before you let any of them decide a purchase.

Questions shop owners ask about this list

  • What is the best social media tool for auto repair shops?

Ocoya, for a shop that wants the caption and the image written like its shop and posted without anyone at the counter doing it. Its Starter tier listed $29 a month billed monthly for 5 social profiles and 300 credits, and publishing is included on that tier rather than held back for a dearer one (ocoya.com/pricing, read 15 September 2026). SpeedRun Social, our own product, does the same jobs and adds short video and a free weekly campaign, and it is ranked second because it costs more. A shop that already photographs the bay and only needs it queued should look at Publer or Buffer instead.

  • What is the cheapest social media tool for an auto repair shop?

On the pages read on 15 September 2026, the cheapest paid plan of any kind was Publer Professional at $5.00 a month billed monthly or $4.00 a month billed yearly for one social account, followed by Buffer Essentials at $5 per channel per month billed yearly, whose monthly figure could not be confirmed on that read. The cheapest way to have the pictures made for you was Ocoya Starter at $29 a month billed monthly. Four tools on this list keep a permanent free tier rather than a trial: Publer, Buffer, Metricool and ours.

  • Is there a free social media tool for auto repair shops?

Four on this list keep permanent free plans rather than countdowns. Publer's is free forever with 1 workspace, 3 social accounts excluding X and 10 scheduled posts per account. Buffer's covers up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel and 1 user. Metricool's covers 1 brand and up to 20 scheduled posts a month, without LinkedIn or X. Ours is 300 credits/month refilled forever, 1 free campaign/week (3 posts + 1 video + 1 cross-post), no card required, watermarked media on free. Ocoya runs a 7-day trial, Vista Social a 14-day one with no card required, and Predis.ai's trial takes a card and charges it when day seven ends, so its cheapest tier is the real entry price.

  • Which of these write the caption, and which only post the photo I take?

Ocoya, SpeedRun Social and Predis.ai write the caption and make the media. Publer, Buffer, Metricool and Vista Social publish what you bring them, which for a shop means a tech has to photograph the rotor or the scan screen and somebody has to write the caption first. Predis.ai sits on the line: its Core tier makes the images but is listed as No Auto Posting, so automatic publishing starts one tier up.

  • Do any of these post to my Google Business Profile?

This matters more for a shop than for most businesses, because a customer with a check engine light searches a map rather than scrolls a feed. On the pages read on 15 September 2026, Ocoya named Google Business Post among its integrations, Publer named Google Business, Buffer and Metricool named Google Business Profile as a channel, and Predis.ai listed Google Business Profiles among its channels. Vista Social's page did not name it at all. Check the vendor's own integrations page before buying on this point, because a pricing page is not an integration list.

  • How much should an auto repair shop budget for social media?

On the figures read on 15 September 2026, a shop doing this properly lands between roughly $5 and $79 a month. Publer Professional was $5.00 a month billed monthly or $4.00 billed yearly, Ocoya Starter $29 a month billed monthly, Metricool Starter $25 a month billed monthly or $20 billed annually, and Vista Social Professional $79 a month billed monthly or $64 billed annually. Our own ladder is Paid plans are $49.99, $99.99 and $199.99 a month billed monthly, or $39.99, $79.99 and $159.99 a month billed annually. A shop running one Facebook page and a Google profile can start at nothing on three of these.

  • Which tool posts for me automatically, without me approving every post?

Ocoya and SpeedRun Social both post automatically on their cheapest paid tiers, and ours also runs a free weekly campaign on autopilot if you want it to. Predis.ai will not auto post on its Core tier, only from Rise up. Publer, Buffer, Metricool and Vista Social schedule the posts but publish what you have approved in the queue, so the writing and the approving are still yours. On ours the approval step is the default, and you can turn it off whenever you like.

Try it on your own bay

The free plans and trials above exist so a shop can put one real week, one real rotor photo, through two tools and compare what comes out. Ours is the entry with no countdown on it, and every post waits for your approval until you turn that off.

Every vendor figure on this page was read on 15 September 2026. Prices move; the links exist so you can check theirs and ours.
